The climatic slopes at 3:05 - 5:01 made me tearful and wanting to see this film again...
RIP James Horner. You'll never be forgotten...
My favorite film composer...

James Horner really outdid himself with this soundtrack - parts of it are so transcendental that they make you feel as though they stretch out across infinity . (and I'm saying this sober)

Magical, haunting, romantic and foreboding... This piece feels like James Horner's life story from birth to today's death. Perhaps the most moving piece of music in cinema I have ever heard. Thank you James for inspiring me as a small boy to the artist I am today.

I always, always cry at this. Whether it's a lot or a little. I don't know why really but I think its because when I was about four years old, my granda died. I remember we always used to watch this film on VHS and the last time I saw him was in the hospital, he was in there because of his failing kidneys, rendering his legs useless. I brought the video in because the room he was in had a TV/VCR set; when I put it on it was at the last scene at this soundtrack was playing when he tapped me on the shoulder and said: "This is our film, treasure it." he said it in a hoarse voice but I understood. I still own that video and now its hard for me to watch.  Also whenever anyone mentions it I just have to either block them out or just walk away.

RIP James Horner whose music helped defy childhoods and beyond! Tonight the world weeps for the passing of a man who has joined the ranks of John Williams, Alan Silvestri, Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer and more as the masters of movie music.

Whenever I hear this music climax, I remember my grandparents house where I used to go for holidays in summer time, back in the 90's...full of warmth, along the Mediterranean coast...with a bright blue sky, gentle white clouds moving around the sun, the greenish land from the gardens and the vineyards, the big rectangular swimming pool, the sand from the beach and the sea...just heaven on Earth. Lost into time...but never forgotten.

My father and sister both worked on this movie in Dublin Ireland in the mid 80s and I’m proud of the fact. Miss my dad :(

The first movie I ever saw in my life. Always brings back great moments of being a little kid.

Damn this hits hard.
I watched all of the movies as a child, and loved them all so much, but it’s something about the theme from 3:05 onwards that just hits so hard.

Even while James Horner was still kickin', this track always got me watery-eyed. My personal favorite by him. RIP

I don't know what's more perplexing: The fact that film makers used to put this much effort into their movies; or the fact that film makers who grew up on these great movies don't replicate their greatness. Don't get me wrong, there have been some great movies in recent times, but has there been anything like this in the entirety of the 2010's? This is a lost art.
