Video of dad’s punishment goes viral

A dad in Virginia made his 10-year-old son run to school for three days after he was kicked off the bus for misbehaving.

I wouldn't have a problem if the dad was running along side of him. This way he could be talking to his son bounding and finding out what is the problem. Kids express their frustration different way

Parents nowadays are afraid of punishing their kids and spoil the hell out of them and then we are left with snot nosed rude ass brats. Then some parents go over board and beat and humiliate and abuse their child and we are then left with traumatized, needy victims. But this, this is the most effective non abusive public punishment I’ve seen in a while. I can’t tell if he is wearing a mask, could be just a hoodie, if the kid is wearing a mask then I think the mask was a little much because it just looks like the kid is wearing a horse mask

The punishment fit the crime. Posting on YouTube or anywhere was unnecessary. Punish without humiliation.

When I'm naughty my dad used to hit me with a belt, my mom hit me with a sandal, and my grandma spank me with a stick. Even my teacher used to hit my hand with a stick if I deserved to be punished for my action. They are the most loving people I know, they love and cared for me. Are they abusing me? I never think it that way. Did I grow violent? no. Did I become troublesome? no. I had good grades, now I have good job, and stable life.Thanks to them and their way of disciplining me. Stop judging people and how they raise their child.

Don't assume anything about this father just by watching this video. You don't know if he beats his kid and he even said in his video "you don't always have to beat them".

I see no issue with making the boy run. It's not cruel and he's not beating the child. I think it's creative and certainly not abusive. I have 5 kids and all are different, and all need something different to get them to straighten up when they are misbehaving. Excellent job.

Still, this is a pretty reasonable punishment. I'd respect the father more if he hadn't shared it on the internet to demonstrate what a clever parent he is.

I’m not a snowflake worrying about other people’s kids, I am old lady who has observed how children are raised determines what type of adult they will become. I still believe the child would be more positive asan adult if Dad wore down the kid’s excess energy by running with him, not following him in a car.

You don't think the kid is messed up because of his parents split. This is like conversion therapy.
