I first heard this song yesterday (it came up randomly on Apple Music) and since then I've probably listened to it 50 times. That's how much I like it. It has a unique sound that's not easily classified - something like early Bryan Ferry meets late XTC...coy and cryptic, with a bit of an edge, and very well produced. I certainly would never have thought it related to World War I. I figured the lyrics to be a sort of poetic stream of consciousness. I like that it seamlessly transitions into the next song on the album (I added the album to my library within 15 seconds of hearing this track.) Well done, very well indeed.
