I work at a Dealer Group that owns a MINI Dealer (and have since the beginning). Unfortunately the more "BMW" these MINIs have gotten, the less MINI they have become. And unfortunately that has lost a lot of their previous customer base (especially when the prices really started going up). They are trying to get back to what made MINI quirky and fun in this new generation, but unfortunately the new generation is not doing all that well for us.

As a former manual transmission mini owner, I am saddened by the removal of one of the most fun aspects of the car. Even if it did have paddles, it’s no substitute for rowing your own gears.

You guys deserve more subs. I'm not even in the market for a car, but the videos are always great

I like it, but I prefer my 24 Cooper S. I like it has physical buttons for the climate control, heated steering wheel, and the stop/start. I realize the newer cars are going in that direction, but for us old folk I'd rather not have to use the digital screen for just about everything. I also like my armrest opens. It's not big, but a pen, tire gauge will fit in there. The current MINI you have to pay extra for a little storage box in the center console. I also like my digital speedometer over the heads up display. That being said I would still be happy to own the new MINI. And hope to buy a new one in a few years.

4:40 I love how the left blinker is an arrow pointing to the right. Keep everyone guessing!

Thanks for your review. We appreciate the perspective of all three! We’ve had our 2025 Cooper (not S) for a month. It’s fun to drive at all times, quick and responsive, comfortable, plenty of room for two, decent storage with the rear seats folded, has a great sunroof and audio system, too. And it looks great!

I'm worried about what all that fabric on the dash is going to look like after 5 yrs...

I own a 2021 Mini Cooper and I still love it!!
I doubt I’d purchase another Mini if I could not get a 6M transmission, though.

i had a 2015 mini cooper s two door... best car ever. we just got the 2025 2 door cooper s and love it. yes it's different but still love and fun fun to drive. the only thing not crazy about is look of the new triangle brake lights and miss the knobs paddles and buttons in the interior. but its awesome to drive. will always be mini fan

Good review that also touches on aspects other reviewers have left out like the 'creep' function (important for low speed manoeuvres in tight spaces like we have in London) and the ability to come to a dignified and delicate halt! Love the vibe and your holy trinity of bonding in that car! Am thinking of this in Cooper spec (with roof as love a sunroof) but some of the features of the previous generation incredibly important and now that 'everybody' wants one of these (mainly for tech and USP of the central, port-hole techno firework) there should be a spate of great, 2020/2021 Coopers being put up for sale helping to drive the second-hand Mini prices down a bit, hopefully!

Does it have an option to turn off traction control and the accursed stop-stop function as you could override both on previous gens?

Thanks, again! Richard

Great Review... Similar to you we had a Mini Cooper back in 2013 and we loved it. We also had a 4Runner so we had our needs met for our outdoor adventures, and around town / fun ones. Recently I was in need of a around town car, run errands etc. We happened upon a new, slightly used (1800 M) 2025 Mini Cooper S in British Racing Green with the Iconic package and the Signature Plus as well. It was within our price range and after a long test drive we had to have it. Living with it now for over a few months we still are in love with it. Do I miss the shifter, paddles etc yes, but also feel the car does a good job of being fun and practical for us. We end up driving it more that the SUV these days as it also is able to hold a bit of stuff still...

3:50 might be the USA but that car can clearly fit a family in there. Back are the days when I would share the back seats of a VW Beettle with another 4-5 people or that other time when the friends and I went to six-flags for the promo of pay per car. We fit 7 people in a Ford Ka.

The interior design is disappointing. Where are the toggle switches? Where did the quirky charm go? It feels like a dude from Berlin trying to fake a cockney accent sounds.

Hey Micah @ 5:50 is that the "Mirrored Emerald" color for flying eyes?

Your videos are great. Fun and scenic. Thank you for carrying microphones! Frankly, you have surpassed Daddy Doug. His audio in his dungeon is terrible.

I’ve owned 4 modern MINIs (r50, r52s, r53, and r56s) and a 77 classic. Loved them all and miss driving them. When the 3rd gen cars came out, they lost me….the proportions of the design felt wrong and the interior was fussy. Now with this new one….FIRM NO. The absence of a manual option kills it completely for me. If there’s anything positive to say, it’s that the new design does look better in person than it does in pictures. Originally the triangular taillights turned me off, but overall the exterior design on the new gen is “cleaner” than the last.

Solid review as always. Nice little car.

I’m guessing that these will be pushed out of the market in the next few years by cheap EVs and the like but who knows.

No foot debris is a plus.

Thanks family!

You could’ve put the “Mini” in quotes as well in the thumbnail. There’s nothing mini about these anymore 😅

I have owned 6 mini cooper hardtops'. I am very disappointed at the look of this one. I think I am done. I think my next ride will be a VW GTI Golf.
