The Adventures of Stevie V was a British dance music act, who in the late 1980s & early 1990s scored several hits on the UK Singles Chart, and the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Assembled by producer Stevie Vincent, the group also included singers Melody Washington and Mick Walsh. Their most successful single was "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)", a #1 dance chart hit that crossed over to pop radio and hit #2 on the UK Singles Chart, as well as peaking at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990. Follow-up single "Jealousy," hit #2 on the US dance chart in early 1991, and climbed to #95 on the Hot 100.

I grew up round the corner from Stevie V, in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire in England... I remember going round to his house where is Mercedes was parked outside, an ordinary looking house it was. My friend and me asked for his autograph, we were only 12 lol, he said “did you buy the single?” we said “oh no, we just taped it off the radio” (we didnt get enough pocket money!)... he laughed, gave us a signature and patted us on the head haha. Its a classic and if had been released any other time it woukd have been Number 1 in the charts (it ended up 2nd after Adamski’s Killer which is also a classic).

1988-1993 was without doubt the best period in music hands down.

I was 13 when this song came out, and just like many of us did in that time, I would wait for hours listening to the radio to get a perfect cassette mix, and this song definitely had to be a part of it. I’ll be 43 on August 12 and I’m still jamming to this tune in 2020🤑☺️❤️

The lady singing this song was my High School music teacher. Notice one of the dancers is wearing a high school letterman's jacket. The dancer is a good friend of mine who attended the same school that she taught in. This song was a big deal for my school back then. DoD high school RAF Alconbury UK. Go Dragons!

The hip house music scene had plenty of chart toppers with C&C, Technotronic, and Snap! But this may be the most underrated in the genre. This was a huge radio hit in Boston on Kiss 108 and was a #1 club hit
