How can you not love Magnus? Such a great guy to have as the world chess champ.

Magnus knew Nepo would win before the Candidates even finished and wanted to give the 2nd place some meaning so the others would play for a win so we'd still see the competitive side of the other players. Brilliant move by Magnus

my guy went from "Ian is coming back to his true self. Playing poor moves quickly" to "He is criminally underrated"

what i like about carlsen is his accessibility and his playing so many tournaments as a world champion.
No hiding and playing only a few prestigious tournaments to preserve his image like Kasparov.

Magnus is such a troll haha! He surely will play the championship, he's just keeping us all on our toes.

I knew for a fact magnus would destroy nepo last wcc because experience truly is one of the strongest tools/weapons that could ever be abused in any sport or profession. But this time, after Nepo has gotten some experience and learned from his mistakes. He didn't lose because of poor chess per se, he lost because he was mentally weaker. He was embarassed and that has made him stronger. Failure and mistakes is the greatest and most efficient teacher. I agree with carlsen, criminally underrated.

0:44 You can pinpoint the exact moment the Carlsen - Nepo rematch was set in stone

I'm absolutely looking forward to Magnus Vs Nepo in the world match! Nepo is killing it in the tournament!

But the thing is this tournament format suits Nepo completely, he's way less comfortable in the drawish environment of a world championship match, which would suit someone like caruana way more.

I honestly believe he expected Alireza not to do too well, so wanted to see more of a fight over the candidates as there would be speculation that 2nd may matter, so there would be more competition in the tournament

He'll definitely defend his title after Ian's incredible performance

It seems like he will play nepo again, his “we’ll see” was indicative of someone who will be giving a positive answer

Was not surprised. Several players have won back to back candidates such as Smyslov in the 50s, Spassky in the 60s, Korchnoi late 70s - early 80s. Karpov and Anand were also two time winners.

Damn, Magnus is so classy and quirky at the same time. Plus he's a genius. Such a legend.

After game 6 (which was as genius and as magnus as you can get) nepo had to risk . The end result of the championship doesnt reflect how good nepo is. In this candidates he was very good, very convincing and very lucky. Magnus has his job cut out for him.

Carlsen gives me a vibe of "Ok, I think I'll prove my title once more and probably retire before the next one"

He is going to play. Nepo will be mentally prepared this time. Super interesting for Magnus and the chess world to see whether he can put up a better fight this time.
