My dad felt thia behavior is discipline, I had fists swung at me whilst still single digits old, people don't understand what it does to you, man up son, all good, I'm a man today because of the power love has, not because of manning up per the stereotypical drivel of "a man only becomes a man through pain", that's absolute BS... I'm a dad now, and a very proud one too... I absolutely adore my son, he's a tremendously special and beautiful person, that's all I want for him, his soul should know peace and it starts with me... Well done to you for being the man you are through your ordeal brother 🙏❤️

Dude I completely feel you. My dad was an alcoholic, I didn't get hit by a fishing pole I got whacked with a razor strap. I am 63 now but when I close my eyes and think about it it's still hurts that he would do this to me. I never understood why.
