I was on the system, at one time. I had a 'Workfare' state that I lived, in which was required. Thankfully I got off the system. I began to get a wage. Pay my bills/taxes. I have been employed now, for 18 years. I sought out educational opportunities which I have. I now earn a very descent living wage. Because, of 'Workfare.'

Don't turn into Texas where they tax the hell out of homeowners regardless of income. In order for us to buy a house in a semi nice area in Texas we have to pay 7500 a year in property taxes and many others pay closer to 10, 000. Not worth it. Rather pay income tax and less property tax. Because if your income is low and your property tax is high you get screwed and lose your home
