Based on the comments on this video, humanity is fucked, and we deserve it.

Thank you for including the impact of industrial animal agriculture - a lot of people aren't aware of it.

When humanity faces a future that sounds like a Hollywood disaster movie, people switch off.. people stick their heads in the sand, and they keep it there. That almost universal trait will bring about the precise events that people are too afraid to contemplate. What we need is the intellectual and emotional bravery to face all the destructive complexity of what we are causing on the planet. Unfortunately, capitalism itself sits as a huge obstacle on that long road.

"Trump: I don't believe in man made climate change". You don't have to believe anything, that's not your job. Your job is to listen to the facts presented by scientists and act accordingly upon those. That's what would happen in a sane world not driven by corporate profit and personal wishes.

Thank you The Guardian for being one of the few who actually take this stance.

My understanding of this issue is that it takes decades for the full impact of greenhouse gases to be realized, from the date they are released into the atmosphere, so as bad as things are now (for humans) much worse conditions are "baked in" so to speak. It is tempting to just say "we're screwed" and leave it at that, but as long as we are presently existing, we are obliged to accept and cope with the world as it is day to day. My intuition is guiding me to a more nomadic, and minimalistic lifestyle, ie. summer of 2017 wildfire and high temps in the Northeast, and B.C. so I moved to the southwest, now in 2018 perhaps the Oregon coast will be my refuge. In 2015 I made the wrong call and was driven out of Lake co. Cal, by wildfire, from which I found comfort and safety at Mt. Shasta. The days of staying in one place have come to an end, just ask the folks in Bellair or Houston, etc. It simply makes no sense to put down roots in any apparently stable community, when we know that if the climate is unstable then any place you choose is subject to sudden widespread devastation.

Mankind must learn how to adapt to climate change, and we must change how we do things radically. The planet will adapt. It has before. The problem is an awful lot of species can't adapt and disappear.

David Attenborough is and always will be a brilliant man. Mark Ruffalo is right too!

I live at the edge of the sea. My daughter graduated and moved away a few years ago. We are avid outdoors people. She visited me recently for the first time since her move and asked if the tides were always so high now. I simply answered, “Yes.”
Tybee island, GA was featured in a BBC article in 2015. The causeway to the island was underwater 37 days that year. 10% of the year. By 2030 it is expected to be underwater one out of three days. Don’t tell me this isn’t real. Denial just makes you look foolish.

Wow. I haven't seen Cher in a long time. Good to see her speak out about real issues again.

Cher makes an undeniably obvious point. There were never hurricanes, and flooding before man

"World wide population expected to surpass 9 billion over the next 50 years ..." ??? How about "World wide population expected to dwindle down to 0 over the next 20 years" ?

How many air miles does David
Attenborough have?
In his lifetime, it has been estimated Sir David
has travelled 1.9 million miles - the
equivalent of flying around the world 763
times - and has made almost 400 trips to 94
different countries. 28 Dec 2020. Carbon footprint, David..you got a giant one.

This video was in 2016. Fortunately by now in the year 2019 we have banded together as a species on the precipice and fought back against a common foe.
Wait, emissions have increased by 5%?
