I understand her problem with John going out to kill Micah because it could get him killed and ultimately did in rdr1. However there's literally no reason for her to get angry at him for saving pronghorn ranch, because then the family would have had no job. The ranch is gone and they're back to fleeing to find somewhere else to settle

Understandable why Abigail has concern but, he's not just gonna let them destroy the ranch, is he? Not defending the ranch is just gonna put all of them in more danger. Maybe let the boys have some fun, Abigail 😂

Yea I didn't like that either. John was helping out the people who give him a chance. Even tho Mr. Geddes knew he wasn't Jim Milton but saw the man wanting to work and earn his keep and let him stay and even with the land which helped John get having him as a reference. That $2 lady of the night should of understood the reason and let Marston do what he does kill!

I hate how she gets mad at him for getting the cattle like what’s he supposed to do go back to bed I mean he can but they would just murder everyone on the ranch then go find him and kill him and his family if only she had a brain…

I will say when Abigale was being hard on John for either helping others by fighting back or trying to defend himself. I was mad at Abigale

Abigail is complicated, if John didn’t save the Ranch then they would have lost their jobs therefore be living on the street, I honestly don’t know what Abigail expected John to do.

The only time I agree with Abigail is when John hunts Micah, she was upset because she didn’t want John risking the family, the ranch and the life they built, and John should have listened to Abigail.

i agree with everything here... the Mr Geddes' ranch is under attack... the least John can do is get the cattle back but Abigail is all angry and all... but when Sadie invited him to kill Micah, that, i 100% side with Abigail...

I agree every time he does something like kill people threating his friends, work, or son Abigail jumps in and tells him he's a fool and the only time you can see her happy is when you got into deep debt and buy her a house on land with no way to be farmed and then when you go to get revenge on the guy that caused this she mad! Man I hate her

If your life depends on no one finding out who you are, then going out on a shootout is the last thing you would do, this is literally the moment that would eventually undo john, the ripple effect of this action comes back to kill him years later

eh disagree. I find her annoying but I totally get where she's coming from. after what happened to the gang she's prob desperate to do whatever it takes to avoid any sort of trouble. john going after micah is literally the reason why ross goes after john and u know how that ended

Abigail isn’t wrong for wanting John to lay low. We see that he’s already a terrible liar (in the since that he’s actually really bad at lying, not that he does it often) and he’s got a bounty on his head. There’s no statute of limitations for armed robbery and murder of police officers. John keeps inevitably throwing his weight around cause it’s literally the only thing he actually knows how to do but every time he does that he puts himself and his family at risk. Either the gov will find and arrest him or some fool wanting revenge will. Abigail genuinely loves him, but she’s not going to risk the safety of her son, even for the man she loves. She just wants John to swallow his pride and lie low for once which he continuously fails to do— and guess what happens becaus of that? He gets a surprise visit from agent Ross with the newly established FBI and gets arrested and forced into hunting down his former friends before ultimately being extrajudicially killed by Ross and a posse of Texas rangers. The exact thing Abigail worried about is exactly what happened, and perhaps the saddest part is that because of it Jack grows up to be a lone gunslinger just like his father. Literally the worst possible outcome from her perspective.

I don’t get why so many people hate Abigail when not only is her reasoning entirely understandable but also she ends up being right about everything! She literally talks about how not keeping a low profile will attract unwanted attention and setting a bad example for jack would risk him making the same mistakes and both of those things end up happening by the end of RDR1.

I love how she complains to john that he thinks he's a hero in a book when in reality he's doing this to save his family and the ranch, the only time i agreed with her is him going after micah since he has all the money and has a whole gang he posses no threat to john

My problem is her during American venom. She acts like Micah wouldn't come for them if they didn't go for him

My guess is she doesn’t want John to get found out by dealing with riff raff that could recognize him from the past. It’s just a game theory.

I kinda agree. She just wants a normal life but at the same time, what was John suppose to do? My wife says no, so I can't? Let the cattle go, let the ranch burn, let the bounty hunters shoot John and probably Jack?

I don't hate her, I do find her bipolar attitude annoying though. But I still like her character.
