Dr Hashmi, I have a question for you. Sorry it’s unrelated to this video but you’ll probably see it easily here. I have borderline CKD and I’m still young. I’m trying to preserve renal function and slow down my decline as much as possible. I’ve tried implementing a semi vegan diet (extremely limiting meats/dairy) to decrease my protein burden. I am still probably consuming 40-50g of protein per day though. I would like to weight lift and put on some mass since I am borderline underweight. Since I should not bulk with whey protein powder I have a couple questions.

1. Is it okay to use a vegan/non animal based protein in higher doses (~1+ gram/kg) instead?

2. What are your thoughts on using ketoanalogues in this situation? Would it safely give me the bulking amount of protein I need if I took enough.
