Now, on to Earl's drumming: It is as old school as it can get. Earl isn't one bit about flash and show. He's all about keeping time -- the first and last cardinal rule for a drummer. That's why it's important to view his videos, should we ever forget what a drummer's role really is in a song. Sure, he provides that little bit of excitement when required (lest anyone dares call him boring) but by large what you get from him is solid unwavering dedication to time keeping and some of the best sounding cymbal and skin sounds. This guy is required watching for anyone who forgets the basics, and he's probably the only over who covers songs that many drummer's think are too so simple for them. Only his fans -- I'm definitely one -- who knows the quality in those covers that you may not find elsewhere.
