You don't 100% appreciate Yes until you see them live. Master musicians!

YES! Live, Yes does it to perfection. Every. Single. Time. I started seeing them in mid 70s, and still go to their shows. Sometimes, I was so excited I couldn’t eat all day.

My biggest complaint about this concert video is it almost ignores Chris Squire.

As others have stated, they opened the show with this song on the CTTE tour. They played an incredibly fast version at the SF concert I attended. Howe was flying high!

"America" by Yes (a rearrangement of the Simon and Garfunkel song) is brilliant.

Now fastforward to Southside of the Sky from the same show! Incredible!

Out of all the shows i have seen, SK has been the opening number on the majority of them. I always liked it when they opened with something else because it was unexpected. Yours Is No Disgrace is another great opener!😎

You are right that Anderson and Squire are the bedrock of Yes...inasmuch as they are the most recognisable "voices" of the band...but so is Steve Howe's guitar. Alan White is an immense drummer...but all the earlier classics were with Bill Bruford. And, although i like "The Wizard"'s keyboards, Patrick Moraz contributed a lot to the success and sound of "Relayer". So - basically, the "Real" Yes has to contain all these elements (or named alternatives) to produce that uniquely recognisable sound. And, amazingly, they played these complex songs, live - which has been a treat for us oldies for 50 years! Thanks Yes!

the live symphonic gig from 2001 was the one to see for me...the orchestra, consisting mainly of young girls was awesome, and you could see they were having a great time too

From the first U.K. album - check out the 3 song mini-suite : In the Dead of Night / By the Light of Day / Presto Vivace - has a guitar solo that made the guitar hero's of the day go "what the
Think you'll really enjoy both of their studio albums

Early 70s concerts, The Band would choose this song to START THE SHOW.

It's not enough Steve Howe has to keep up this intricate guitar part throughout the whole song, he has to sing harmony while he's doing it lol. These guys are too much.

Check out the supergroup U.K. They have a song called The Only Thing She Needs (second listing). It's pure perfection.

Show opener for many years transitioning out of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. The only thing I didn't like about the video was that we didn't get a single shot of Chris Squire's amazing bass work.

I think it’s a great idea of reacting to live versions of songs you have reacted to. In my mind, studio versions are like childhood photos of songs. As the band plays the songs on tour year after year, the songs mature and improve. Continuing with the photo-metaphor, that would make live versions “adult photos” of the songs. The highlight of this particular concert is Awaken. It’s the best live concert video of that song which I know of. And I think I’ve seen them all. Once you listen to Awaken, check that out.
BTW, With yes, there are plenty of great as well as lousy concert videos. Unguided and selecting randomly, it is unavoidable that you eventually select a lousy one. If you are serious about this live video thing, and serious about getting to know Yes, and you want a roadmap, let me know and I’ll be happy to oblige.

Does Steve Howe edit Chris out of all footage? I can certainly hear him 😂

Oh yes ... that was Yes (once again) in the original line-up. My favorite live song from the "old gentlemen time" is "Heart Of The Sunrise live at the Apollo 2018". But that's Yes (ARW) [Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman] Anderson is a bit better with voice and Rabin sings better than Howe anyway. The whole concert is worth listening to, by the way.
