The case of BBM is not tax evasion. It’s failure to file ITR. So, how can you evade tax kung mawiwitthold sya? Hindi naman si BBM ang nagdedetermine ng ibabawas sa sweldo nya pambayad ng tax. Since may deficit nung nacompute yung supposed total for those years ang parusa is bayaran yung kulang kasama interest at penalty. Kahit sino na sumusweldo sa isang kumpanya, maliit man o malaki alam yan.

Compensation - is the tax withheld from income payments to individuals arising from an employer-employee relationship.

IMPORTANCE OF WITHHOLDING TAX SYSTEM

It is considered as an effective tool in the collection of taxes for the following reasons:

It encourages voluntary compliance;
It reduces cost of collection effort;
It prevents delinquencies and revenue loss; and
It prevents dry spell in the fiscal conditions of the government by providing revenues throughout the taxable year.
