Black Myth Wukong Boss Guide:

Location: Crouching Tiger Temple - Cellar: From this shrine slide down the sand and go left into the tornado.

Difficulty: 6/10 (Level 36+ recommended)

Strategy: Yellow Wind Sage is the Chapter 2 endboss, and the hardest boss in the game thus far. He has a lot of health and hits very hard. He has only one health bar but 2 phases, his 2nd phase starts at 50% health. It's recommended to do all other bosses in Chapter 2 first. This will get you leveled up and you unlock various upgrade materials to get stronger. Make sure you crafted all available weapon and armor upgrades up to this point. Also make sure you upgraded your gourd at the Shen Money if you obtained any upgrade materials. At the Cellar shrine before the boss, talk to Xu Dog to exchange all your Mind Cores for Celestial Medicines, pick the ones that increase Defense. Also buy the medicine recipe from him. Now craft 3 medicines at the shrine: Longevity Decoction, Evil Repelling Medicament, Tiger Subduing Pellets. Consume all 3 of these before entering the boss fight. They increase your health, defense, attack. Start the fight by dodging the first attack combo, then use Immobilize - A Pluck of Many - use quick-attacks. Together with your clones you will deal lots of damage. After this you should have taken 30-40% of the boss's health. Having the Foundation Martial Arts skill "Sturdy" is useful here, on the final hit of a quick-attack combo it gives you significant damage protection. Continue dodging his melee attacks and landing quick attacks until he reaches half health. Don't play at distance, stay close to the boss at all times, if you run away he will use ranged attacks and he is very accurate with those. At close range he will often miss you if you are to his side or his back, so always dodge sideways. At half health, the boss will summon a huge rock that falls down on you. You can either dodge sideways to evade it, or even better activate your Transformation spell (don't use it earlier), then dodge while transformed. Even if you get hit, it doesn't matter as the damage you take while transformed is reset when transforming back to your regular form. If you get hit by the rock in your regular form it deals massive damage. After evading, you can use heavy attacks while transformed to land some damage. The boss will vastly change his moveset in the 2nd phase. He will use repeated jumping attacks where he becomes translucent and jumps across the arena from side to side, dodge when he comes towards you. He can now cast tornados that lift you in the air if you walk into them. He also does various ground strikes that deal damage in a wide area. You should have enough mana left to land one more Immobilize spell here. Then stay close to the boss, focus on dodging the attacks perfectly, and land quick-attacks. Don't bother using heavy attacks, they are too slow for this boss, you'll get hit. Remember to use your :l2: + :r2: Spirit Attack, recommended is the "Wandering Wight" because equipping him gives you +20 defense permanently at all times, and his headbutt attack deals good damage. If you finished the first phase quickly, you should have all or most of your healing charges left so you can heal frequently in the second phase.

Reward: Will, Fuming Ears (relic), 1x Samadhi Wind Agate (material), 2x Gold Iron Leaves (material), 5x Silk, 2x Yaoguai Core, 1x Refined Iron Sand (material), 1x Mind Core (material)

Two things you can do to help with this boss.

1 collect the 6 Buddha statue heads turn them in at a rock where you fought the rock monster boss earlier this will give you a nice upgrade to your staff that’ll also boost over all defense

2. Complete the drunken boar questline unlocks a whole new area/upgrades

i was on this boss around for 5 hours? you definitely need to read his moves. i like to start by freezing him and trying to boost my focus level. then immediately spawn my clones. just take your time. i genuinely recommend the “boar sidequest” once its completed after killing “fuban” they’ll reward you with a vessel called “ wind tamer “ you activate this once he’s around 30% health. this is when he spawns his tornadoes, activating the vessel (R2 + Left analog) removes his tornadoes for a short time and really helps. i hope i can help

Anybody else kinda felt sad when in the secret he helped us defeat that boss in the desert but now we have to fight him and basically kill him?

In the real world, the head of Linji Bodhisattva was looted by the Eight-Nation Alliance from China over a hundred years ago, and now the head is housed in the British Museum.

I BEAT HIM AFTER 5 HOURS HERES HOW:

After you revive the newly acquired “pluck of many” power **DO NOT** head directly to this boss instead find some minor enemies and spend the time gaining enough sparks to level up the “pluck of many” to last longer and do more damage. After that find the Buddha stone after you beat the “vanguard stone” boss and locate the 6 Buddha heads and return back to the stone to activate and fight the boss after activating to receive a new staff. Then find the drunken boar and do his quest (way to many steps to explain) beat his quest to receive a new set of armor and a new item to help you in this boss fight against some of his attacks. I did all of this and beat him in 4 attempts…he his the final boss of the chapter for a reason!!!!

It’s really fun when the game slows and feels like it’s gonna crash when inputting moves into the controller. Great game performance for 2024. Would love to smash my PS5 over the game makers office and desktops.

Why does this fight have invisible walls? Is it possible to stagger/knock him out of bounds? Twice now I've knocked him over, ran toward him, and hit a literal invisible wall while my character sits in a run animation. Does the wind hinder movement?
