The reason behind the inspiration and naming of Omori in the first place is that Sunny believed that Mari loved the piano more than him because of how she’d lock herself away on the piano. Which is why Omori is named after the piano, to be loved more by Mari in headspace

this secret is really interesting and deep, even if interpretanted both ways, but it makes me cringe a little because of actual origins of Omori's name. Who tf will name their piano with half of japanese word for professional couch potatoes😭
