Can anyone be a Jedi?
Can anyone be a Jedi? Well according to Dave, yes. His statement is ‘Everyone can become a Jedi’ Has this always been the case though or is a new Disney pushing a political ideology they are forcing into fiction? Well many would have you believe that Star Wars has always been written this way and it hasn’t.
Yes anyone could be force sensitive as the force resides in all live forms but if everyone could be a Jedi why did the jedi order not mass recruit people in the Clone Wars or before that. It is because there must have been a Melachlorine threshold, one must reached to be allowed in the Jedi order. On that note, we see in the Clone wars and rebels a list of force sensitive babies that the Jedi and Sith are trying to recruit. If anyone can be a Jedi or a sith why have this list at all?
Can vs Could
Can anyone be a Jedi? And Could anyone be a Jedi are two different questions for me could anyone one be a Jedi yes Can anyone be a jedi? No. Could it theoretical, can implies practical element. Could everyone get 100% on the test yes it is possible? But Can they? No its not likely. I think what Dave Filo is trying to say is anyone could be a Jedi. Which theoretically is true. It could be possible.
Is it a good thing to have everyone as a Jedi?
In schools and other events they started to move anyway from gold medals for the winners and participation trophies for everyone. Whether you believe this or not this is what Disney are doing to StarWars is the same. everyone can be a Jedi with hard work. Everyone can be special _ (When everyone is special no one is)
But does this take some of the mystery the prestige from being a Jedi of Myth. Well, yeah it does. The way I always saw being a Jedi and this is just my head canon is everyone is force sensitive and is connected to the force but in that 1% or so there are some with such a connection to the force that the are strong enough to be considered to be a Jedi. And this is what we see with the prequels Jedi order. Maybe now the new Jedi order is like anyone can join as long as they try. I can’t wait for the sequels.
Should everyone be a Jedi?
It’s like saying everyone can do Maths but it doesn’t mean they are a mathematician. And I like this example because when I use to teach and yes everyone could do maths but not everyone was talented at the subject, some had a natural aptitude for it others did not. The ones that did not could be trained in other subjects they were better in like let’s say English. Sabine is a Mandalorian and a good one she could write novels if we are going for the English and Maths metaphor yes she knows how to do maths and is trained by a master. Is that the path she should take though?
Why tell everyone that they can be a Jedi if they are going to be a bad one? When they could do something else they are good at. Like pilot, Mandalorian smuggler politician, guard soldier the list goes on. You should do the thing you are talented in. Everyone has a set of skills play to those skills. It’s like me saying anyone could be a solider, that true anyone could, could being the key word. Does everyone make it in that profession, no. Or a job like An astronaut, yes everyone could be an astronaut with hard work, are they though, is everyone able to do that, no.
So, any character you have seen in Star Wars any character can be a Jedi if they worked hard any character! Let me know in the comment which character you think should have been a Jedi with this new we are all winners philosophy.

The key word is could bare that in mind could. Everyone could be the Chancellor of the republic but how many people actually are? Everyone could be a grandmoff but they are not. Hard work is really important in life but there are other factors talent and attitude, and even luck. By saying anyone can be a Jedi if they work hard enough is just not true. The question in writing Dave should really ask is Should, Should they be made into a Jedi? And in Sabines case the answer was definitely no.

“Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.”

Well, to quote Han Solo.

That's not how the Force works!

George said years ago that anyone could it was just harder for less force sensitive people to learn

Look at it from the angle of “midoclorians” (it pains me to even speak that infernal word) all I would have to do theoretically is take some midoclorian nutrient pills and I could use the force. Looking at it from a practical angle, it makes no sense that just anyone can use the force if they tried hard enough. If that was the case then the Jedi could’ve just retrained an army of force users after Order 66.

How do you feel about this change that everyone can be a Jedi?

anyone can be a Jedi... it's just not everyone is worth training... or, apparent enough to consider.

Everyone forgets that Sabine was undergoing training via Ahsoka prior to this show. Ahsoka stopped her training out of fear that she may go toward the dark side, (per Hu-Yang). Plus, no one other than the students of Luke are training to be a Jedi. Ahsoka herself is no longer a “Jedi”. She was teaching Sabine to unlock her abilities with the Force and then stopped. This tells me at least that Ahsoka saw Sabine’s potential as a force user (not Jedi) and became afraid of that potential turning Dark due to Sabine’s personal losses during the Purge of Mandalor.

force sensitives are more powerful in the force but aren’t the exclusive users

At this point, every clone, Han Solo, Chewy and Finn should've been using the force easily

Can anyone be a Jedi? No, some people's "midi count" is just too low to pass the "benchmarks/tests" to become a full fledged jedi.
Can anyone try to develop Jedi skills? As long as you have a midi count, any count, yes! Just don't expect to be good at it and you certainly wouldn't pass the benchmarks/tests to become a full fledged Jedi no matter how hard you dedicate yourself to it. I see it a bit like elite olympic athletes, some people just don't have the potential to compete at that level, but they can still get better with practice and dedication.

This is getting so ridiculous. Lol, now anyone can become the chosen one, and deer can fly if they really believe they can. The Buffalo cousins discovered so momentarily when they ran off cliffs, and that didn't work put too well for them.

Not everyone can be equally great. That concept is impossible.

To me, this is just more evidence that Filoni was never all the things legions of delusional and brain-dead fanboys often cited him as. They were coming from a less informed place of ignorance, with their only experiences being TCW and that's it, so they never saw how dumbed down that was compared to stories told before TCW. Filoni has never been good for Star Wars, he's always hurt it, he's always been very selfish with it, and I think people need to stop making excuses for him. He was NEVER the messiah just because he makes something that is (barely) passable while Disney rots. There is a difference.

on an interview for Star wars 4, George Lucas said everyone can master the force if they learn to, then for some reason he changed it in the prequels with some awful retcon that said you need to have enough bacterias in your blood or whatever to be force sensitive, which is not only an awful retcon, but awful writing

So historically the decision was first made that everyone can learn the force, therefore everyone has the potential to be a jedi. It's simple

Eh. Maybe Sabine is like the Vizlas. The 1% of mandalorians that are Jedi. Hopefully this trend doesn’t continue and it’s gonna be explained eventually. Possibly some “intermingling” of sorts between the Wren clan and the Vizla clan(Death Watch blonde white guy)

No, not everyone can or could be a Jedi. Only Force-sensitives, a very small part of the population.

I hate it all, it just takes everything away from Star Wars

All the arguments against Sabine are generally intellectually dishonest lol she’s not the most likable character to be fair, but nothing that has happened to Sabine in ahsoka changed or ruined sw. She’s just not an amazing character, so what.
