Doduo’s pre-evolved form actually has an explanation for the heads. Apparently the head that is fed less retracts back inside as a doduo and then comes back out as the angriest head of the Dodrio.

It’s silly but I love that design so I would accept it 😂

Even tho I understand baby Pokémon are pretty much useless for the most part, I just like them. Especially if it’s an excuse to shoehorn in a more powerful evolutionary line in early. Ex. If Lapras for whatever reason got a baby form, maybe you can get it early on by rare encounter with fishing rod. Then you can raise that Pokémon and have it with you for most of the game causing a closer bond and being able to monitor its move set more closely.
I also like baby Pokémon for design reasons and also because they can make a line feel more complete. Again I understand baby Pokémon don’t reslly need to exist in a lot of scenarios, but that’s just how i feel. I don’t mind a lot of the beta baby forms because they’re good designs and being more attention to more unpopular lines. Some are pretty bad but a lot are super cute and I love them. I do understand a lot were unneeded tho :(

one of my favourite pokemon is the beta baby growlithe.and i think baby pokemon really just exist for mostly lore reasons and so they have an excuse to make an even cuter version of a pokemon
baby growlithe's first design looked like a freaking doll
so atleast they made a better design for baby growlithe before scrapping it indefinitely
