Hey there!
Here is another special remix, just for you! This is my arrangement of "My Castle Town" from the hit indie series Deltarune! It is made for solo piano with an accompanying symphony orchestra and SATB choir. There is not much that needs to be said about the song or about the series itself, so instead, allow me to tell you the story of how this song came into this year's video schedule...
2 years ago at the start of the pandemic, I lost my best friend in the whole world to COVID. This was when everything was really bad, and no one knew what to do. Vaccines had not yet been developed, places were shutting down, and the world was in chaos. Losing my friend was a tragic memory, one that still cuts deep to this very day. However, day by day, by listening to music and reflecting on all the moments we shared together, I am finding the strength to move on. I am not allowed to share too many personal details about her life, or our time together, but what I can tell you is that she loved waltzes. In fact, she was one of the first people that taught me how to waltz. Every time we would see each other in school, we would laugh, chat, cry, and dance all our troubles away. It was comforting to know that there was someone who shared in my struggles, and understood me at a level that most people do not, even to this day. Losing my friend was so devastating, but by allowing myself to take it slowly and feel every emotion, I am able to lift my head up and confidently move forward, cherishing her memory in my heart.
I lost my friend in the early part of June, so this time of year always hurts. I cried a lot as I wrote this arrangement, and I cried a lot as I put the video together. I had to re-record my piano part several times because sometimes all you could hear was my sobbing over the serene melody. But, I wanted to write something that would honor her memory, what she stood for, who she was, and who she was to me. So, I wrote this arrangement. It's not perfect, but I truly believe it is something she would be proud of :)
All song credit goes to Toby Fox, the creator of the Undertale/Deltarune franchise and the senior composer for the games. Mega props to you for being able to create your own games AND write the music for them too! This piece is not a carbon copy, but a recreation of the original, with each note being hand-written and digitally processed, carefully and with love.

If you've made it this far through the description, thank you for listening to our story. It was a tough one to tell, but at least I do not have to hold on to the burden of keeping it inside anymore.
Let us know which other tracks from Deltarune you would like to hear us remix. We've got a few in mind, but we would love to know your thoughts as well!
And stay tuned for the rest of the month! This whole month will be all waltzes, in memory of my late best friend. I won't be repeating the story in each video, but the feeling will still be there, so I hope you all be supportive of me in my journey to healing.
Thank you so much for watching, and as always, don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!
With gratitude,
Richard
