Durham Region - Rover AI Pothole Detection

Durham Region recently received the 2022 Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Technology Achievement Award for its AI Road Maintenance Innovation project. The AI Road Maintenance Innovation project was led by the Region’s Works Department, in partnership with Visual Defence Inc., and allows the Region to identify potholes using an app called ROVER AI. Regional Chair Henry met with Maintenance Operations Manager, Eric Lamain, to discuss what ROVER AI is doing for Durham Region.
