As a mathematics and physics student, I'd say -

The leaves are not actually 360° (degrees) around. Because degree is a unit of 2D angle, which indicates that leaves are in a circle on just one plane.
Whereas.
The leaves are actually spherically spread out in all 3D directions (just except the direction of the trunk).
So we would say the leaves are 4π² (four times pi squared) steradians around the tree. Steradian is a unit of 3D angle.

Sorry for the long umwanted comment though 😅

This is 150% truth! I can not tell you how many “tutorials” show palm trees in a 2D perspective I have seen (and clicked off from.) It drives me batty! Thank you for literally stating the obvious! 🥰🙀
