Diagnostics and Antimicrobial Stewardship: How Can We Elevate?

CIDRAP-ASP hosted Professor Dilip Nathwani, FRCP/E, OBE, and Professor Philipp Schuetz, MD, MPH, in a webinar presentation entitled, "Diagnostics and Antimicrobial Stewardship: How Can We Elevate?"

The presentation focused on the challenges of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) in European and low/middle income settings, and examined how rapid diagnostics and biomarkers can help to achieve the goals of AMS. The utility of biomarkers for AMS was examined, with an emphasis on the appropriate use of procalcitonin and what the future of PCT use may look like.
