I got a feeling either the creator or writers for the Simpsons had grand parents who weren't supportive.

Its funny. they never did much with marge's parents. You barely ever see the father

I'd be like "Okay, go piss off back to the old folks home and be by yourself for Thanks Giving." and I'd close the door on her and go back to enjoying my family dinner.
