These are popular throughout Europe with different names very common in northern Italy too known as “passatelli” or Spaetzle in Germany

Fun fact, this was the second thing I learned how to make from scratch at the age of like 10 (first thing were Crepes or pancakes). In the German speaking parts of Europe these are called Spätzle (this specific kind are Knöpfle which translates to little buttons) and often served as a side with saucy meator appear in the children’s section of the menu with creamy mushroom sauce or last but not least could be turned into Käsespätzle (baked in the oven with high-fat cheese such as Appenzeller or Gruyère and topped of with caramelised onions). A typical Swabian dish involves these as a side to a lentil stew and Viennese sausages.

Hungarian here! So happy that you tried this dish, it's one of my favorites! I'd recommend adding a simple side salad (lettuce with a vinegar-sugar vinegraitte), it freshens it up a bit! 😊

Very similar to Spätzle ! Delicious with creamy mushrooms (and thin sautéed strips of pork meat) 😍

Throw them in a pan, fry lightly, add onions and lots of cheese (Gouda or Emmentaler) add chives for some green and enjoy Käsespätzle

Aren't the old systems like the SNES great? They were built to last forever and the games were great. I still have many games for my SNES and also my Nintendo 64. My GameCube finally expired though after all these years. I need a new one.
