Just put a Set of Darkstar's on one of my 7 strings. I can't believe how good these pups are for the money I spent on the set!!!! Great review!! It helped me make the decision to pull the trigger and try em out!! I typically use Blackouts or 707's on my 7 strings...I was just too lazy to mod too much so I was looking for a passive set. I gotta say I'm blown away how good they sound \m/ (><) \m/

It's amazing that company's can make pickups that are almost the same as the originals, but at quarter of the price.
I am absolutely looking into some of these for my 7 now.

I have an LTD M-17 with annoyingly-microphonic stock pickups. I also have an Epi SG with six-string Darkstars that I'm extremely pleased with. This video has made me do a little math. I see an upgrade in my M-17's future.

Very, well done, Sir. To my ears, at least, The Duncan only has barley audible, better definition, but not anywhere near enough to justify the price difference. I actually kinda liked the clean tone of The Dark Star slightly better. Btw, I absolutely LOVE that riff & progression You're playing. Did You write that? Thanx for the comparison. I've been looking for a good, cheap, tight pup for in the bridge of my low A tuned axe project, & this demo definitely puts The Dark Star on the list.

There are 2 versions of the Darkstar. Is this the ceramic or neodymium?

There was a difference in the cleans, but in overdrive I could not tell the difference

both are great, not a huge difference, in fact I like more the sound of the Entwistle pickups and they only cost £20 !!

I think the Pegasus is one of sd’s worst ftw, sounded closer to my SD nazgul and black winter bridge pickups....cool demo

I tried entwistles on my 7-string guitar and they sound dark, TOO much low. But 6-strings nemesis on my yamaha sound cool, still can`t figure out the reason. Also 7-strings need more gain to sound overdrived. ):

A comparison wit backing track, not cool, the only reason one can tell a difference in the cleans is because there's barely any backing track, for the furure show off, but then do a proper comparison, thanks.
