I hope you enjoy this Strange Ghost Town Kayaköy Fethiye Turkey Guided Tour - this famous abandoned Ghost Town is definitely in the Top 10 Things to Do in Fethiye Turkey.
Now preserved as a museum village, it consists of hundreds of rundown but still mostly intact Greek-style houses and churches which cover the mountainside. After the Greco-Turkish War, Kayaköy was largely abandoned after a population exchange agreement was signed by the Turkish and Greek governments in 1923.

Looking or what to do in Fethiye? Kayaköy is just a few miles from Hisaronu and Ölüdeniz.

Wow, the scene at 5:00 shows just what an incredible site this is. There's something about abandoned places that fascinates us and this is one of the most impressive I've seen.

I'm thrilled to embark on this guided tour of Kayaköy, the famous abandoned Ghost Town in Fethiye, Turkey! The fact that it's considered one of the top 10 things to do in Fethiye speaks volumes about its allure. Exploring the preserved museum village, with its Greek-style houses and churches scattered across the mountainside, must be a truly captivating experience. Learning about the historical context, particularly the population exchange agreement in 1923, adds a layer of depth to the town's story. Thank you for sharing this intriguing journey with us. I'm excited to discover the secrets and charm of Kayaköy!

Concerning what you said in 5:00, a small yet important note:
Most Greeks of the town were killed by Turks, by 1918, during the genocide of Anatolian Christian populations. What happened in 1923 was the official and final evacuation of the village by the remaining Christians living there. But the Greek population was already mostly depopulated by then.

@Living Walk
Kayaköy / Livissi is not a symbol of friendship between Greece and Turkiye as you state in your opening statement but that of the ethnic Greek and Turkish populations.

@1:15 there is *no district with the name Kayaköy in Istanbul*. You are thinking of Karaköy.
Livissi's diverse populations pre-dated the 14th century CE going back to BCE era

The minority Christian populations (included Armenians) were not citizens under the Ottoman Empire and up to post-WWI there was no sense of country / nationalism / citizenship until the establishment of the Republic of Turkiye in 1923 and the signing of Treaty of Lausanne the same year.
Not as simple as you state to make the country a single religion. A topic for another day.

6, 500 (this is an estimate) inhabitants of Livissi did not 'leave, to go to Greece'. By 1923 there were no ethnic Greek population left, since the **forced evacuation** in 1922 plus the acts of violence since 1915.
There was an ethnic Greek genocide alongside the Armenians and Assyrians during the same period in Asia Minor, in other words it was a Christian genocide.

The Muslims from Greece did not settle in Livissi due to rumors of ghosts there.

@10:26 a dolmuş and mini-bus are not the same type of transportation!

It is called Livissis. Its inhabitants were forced to leave by the Turkish Government in 1924.
