I have named ALL 4 of my children to guard against this exact thing. A female will often choose the name of her first crush or a favoured former sexual partner.

For thousands of years people did not name their children on the day they were born, they waited until they can see a bit a personality before they assigned a word that represented that personality. Now you have women that are naming the child before it's even born, whether it suits the child or not, doing it based off of a feeling

When my wife got pregnant. I figured a name for "him" and then talked all the time about Sebastian. After the ultrasound exam confirming it was a boy, I kept on calling my son Sebastian and Sebatian he became.

I am definitely old school. If she wants to marry me she takes my last name - no option. If I have a son I select his name - also not negotiable. If she questions either of these two non-negotiables, then she won’t be marrying me. Why any man would allow his wife to do otherwise is something I do not understand.

I named both my kids. Boy and girl. Also gave them their middle names too. Named them after a couple of bad asses that were my grandparents. One’s a german woman born in the 1920s. The other was a Korean/Vietnam veteran. Good ppl to society.

I agree with Rich 1000%. Personally I named my boys after the paternal figures on their mother’s side. Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Great Uncle. It paid homage to their mom’s family names while the middle name and last name were mine. Had we had a girl(s) it would have switched (Named her after her after my mom and grandmothers) I chose to do that. So should you.

Backstory: I hadn't seen her for more than a decade. We had never been intimate. (we were teenagers but had a crush on each other).
When we spoke, after a few minutes she told me about her husband and children and that she named her first son after me.

Absolutely correct. I once heard a teacher in the teacher’s lounge tell her friends how she tried to name her son after her long lost alpha. Yes, I was eaves dropping. Her husband knew what was going on and quashed it. If not for the child, I think he should have quashed that marriage.

I named both of our sons. Not with the mother anymore but am 100% in their lives! Was never an issue and still isn’t! Her behaviour after we split was nothing short of extraordinary and totally unexpected! 7 years on she is single and I am in a relationship whilst hitting life and work as hard as I can! As Rich said: it’s best to avoid women with pasts like that all together. I assume past 30 years old it’s practically impossible though. One of the benefits of marrying young is avoiding these headaches right off the bat.
