Oh man!!! In a world of "some assembly required" mid century modern fast fashion? This house is a feast for my eyes. I can almost smell the age of the house, the fireplace, the greenery on the breeze. I'm in the middle of refurbishing some parts of my very ordinary suburban house and struggling with how to adapt the "clean" lines of today's design to the classic, traditional, curated look of fine design. References like this home remind me of where my design roots are, and the sensibility I am nodding to. It's getting harder and harder to find the classics without spending a fortune, so it's tricky!! A thought I'm struck by is how this property will fare as your hosts age. In our case, the originally more complex garden designs are being increasingly pared back as our bodies become less able to put in the work to maintain.
