The Only Player Better Than Lionel Messi

Messi’s cousin could've been better than Messi but his career took a turn for the worse. His name was Bojan Krkic and he didn’t know he was Messi’s cousin for most of his life. Bojan scored 900 goals for Barcelona’s academy and broke all of Messi’s records. Bojan eventually moved up to Barcelona’s senior team and broke even more of Messi’s records. This gave Bojan the title of the next Messi. But even though he kept scoring, he was struggling inside. In 2008, Bojan told the Spanish national he was fatigued and asked to be left off the squad. But in reality, Bojan had anxiety issues and needed a break. Bojan's form eventually declined with Barcelona and he was sold to Roma in 2011 for 28 million dollars. Bojan hoped leaving Barcelona would distance him from the Messi comparisons but it did anything but that. Researchers published Messi’s family tree later that year and showed Messi and Bojan were cousins! Roma didn’t work out for Bojan and the next Messi found himself playing in the MLS and he retired at just 32 years old.

I remember him actually having been very good. His playingstyle was very similar to Messi's. Sometimes you couldn't tell who was on the ball. It sure was a pity that he never realized his full potential. But health always has the highest priority.
