Teach tech taster: tile-based coding and algorithms

Показать описание
A taster clip of Turn IT On's Curriculum Team Manager, Martin Long, delivering a Decoding the Computing Curriculum training session at Wheatley CE Primary School. This clip demonstrates how software like Rommy and Lightbot can be used to explore tile-based coding and algorithms as part of the computing curriculum.
Our Decoding the Computing Curriculum training sessions cover all elements of the computing curriculum. More on algorithms includes 'unplugged' instruction-based coding, 'plugged-in' tile-based coding (like in this clip), and block-based coding using software such as Scratch.
This training session was the first step in a complete computing overhaul for Wheatley CE Primary School. The training showed them ways to embed computing across their curriculum and the next step will be to revamp their technology provision as part of their strategic three-year IT development plan, supported by Turn IT On.
