After weeks of planning and careful construction, we finally built a fully natural aviary—a safe, enriching environment made to mimic the wild. Today, we release a pair of beautiful bearded reedlings (Panurus biarmicus) into their new home.

Watch as they explore the reeds, touch naure for the first time, and begin their new chapter in a space designed to reconnect them with nature. This project was a labor of love for both conservation and bird wellbeing.

many years ago I had a pair of reed buntings, male and female. The most resilient, easily settled and easily fed birds I ever had were yellowhammers, the ate everything that they could catch or fit in the mouth and my reed buntings were equally robust and healthy. I miss keeping birds but wouldnt go back to it.

Really nice set up! I thought the coco-matting on the walls was a great idea. I really enjoy seeing all the species at the shows, sometimes I feel for the birds, being in small containment and being very exposed and stressed. So nice to see a nice, spacious, somewhat natural environment for them. Well done.

Nice landscaping, seen a few Reedlings at bird sales, seem to have potential to do well in a specialized aviary. Will be interesting to see if they have any breeding success. Thank you for posting.
