Two circle geometry questions, one given two points and a line through the centre, and the other given a tangent and the centre.

Q1: The points (-3,1) and (1,5) lie on the circumference of a circle. The centre of the circle lies on the line y=3x-12. Find the equation of the circle.

Q2: The line 8x+15y+17=0 is a tangent to a circle with centre (1,4). Find the equation of the circle.

Hello, I think the first question could be solved in another way:- first find the mid-point of the two points given and the gradient then find the equation of the perpendicular bisector therefore the equation of the perpendicular bisector meets the line (y=3x-12) at the centre therefore you can find the coordinates of the centre and calculate the radius so with coordinate sof the centre and the radius you find the equation of the circle

Maths explained I watched you since year 11. I am doing A level Maths now soon I will be year 13. I have been struggling with sketching differentiation and bearings in general ( I just can't get the notation or what the q. asks for). - Video suggestion
