I’m sure you didn’t fail to notice that humans don’t do any of those things as well. Although the “distinguish true/false” thing I do think it can do. At least it tries, just as humans.
The hallucinations thing makes me wonder a couple of things. I think of David Lewis’ paper Veridical Hallucination and Prosthetic Vision. I’m not sure if this term “hallucinations” is appropriate for chatgpt.
