What's the difference between EPS and Neopor?

Показать описание
Or more commonly, what's the difference between gray foam and white foam in a SIP panel? In this video, we'll tell you why Neopor can sometimes be advantageous if you want to hit a higher R-Value with a thinner profile.

What's the difference between the gray foam and the white foam? Excellent question. So, there are two types of foam in the industry. Essentially, they're both expanded polystyrene, but the gray foam has a graphite additive, and so that's actually called Neopor. So white foam typically has an R-value of around 3.9 per inch, the gray foam has an R-value of around R5 per inch. And so, why would I use the gray foam versus the white foam? It costs more money, obviously, but if you're trying to get higher R-value in a thinner profile, you'll be able to accomplish that better with the Neopor sometimes than with going with a thicker EPS panel.
