I was 20, having a lot of savings by working. I married a 27 year old that had a fake image. He drove the newest audi while being in DEPT and NO savings. He tried to live off me and use me.


Always projecting his anger on me because he had no money and no savings. (He used to spend money on ordering food when i was at work)

I left him after 1 year with no kids thank god

I don’t think women are truly designed to choose the the best quality men w/o another males guidance. Good men always recognize good men..and we understood that good men do not always come in the packages that women are initially attracted too..I gave my daughters few advice on selecting men. But I told them if they didn’t feel like I would like them…then that was a great indicator..the other bit of advice was to pick the most boring man-WITH A PLAN AND NOT A DREAM..that choose to be with them. The final bit was you want to see how he handles stress and his vision for her..finances..etc.

I think bw was ok with broke... even building them up.... until, things changed and mens morals, values, and loyalty changed. I worked with men my first year out of school helping them get a job and get off food share, these men shared sooo much with me and I gained soo much insight!

I think men who spend to impress are far more dangerous. Most of these women don’t even have the discernment to know of a man is “broke” when he’s not a frivolous spender. They assume spending money or money on them means a man has money.

What's "broke"? Someone define it, please. The majority of BW make 779 dollars per week on average, while BM make 828. Not much of a difference, but BM still make more. We need to be realistic about money in the AA community.

I agree “people” shouldn’t date in general if they are broke. However, this woman is conflating two different things. If HE is flat broke- don’t date him. However, if he is a minimalist and has a comfortable lifestyle that he enjoys. There’s nothing wrong with that.
