I love how you explain, how you can "soften" each transition, by introducing tension that resolves the way you want to go. I am an animator, it reminds me of the principle of anticipation in animation. You move into an extreme pose opposite of the way you want to go, you hold until the follow through dies out and Zip.. you don´t even need to draw the move, just the result and the brain fills in the rest.
