What is a Deposition?

A deposition is testimony taken under oath. A court reporter captures your testimony; it's a lot like testifying in court, it's just that you're not in the presence of the judge or jury. There are attorneys there representing you as well as attorneys asking questions and you are giving sworn testimony.
