In this episode of DD, Aaron goes over 10 really cool and vintage Ford Dealer accessories from back in the day. Many of these accessories could be used on any Ford vehicle and some were specific to the Dentside Ford truck from the 70s. Either way, they are all really cool and exemplify what made classic vehicles visceral compared to modern day computerized trucks.

I really love these old dealer accessories. A good one not seen in this video is the dealer installed AC. They are hard to come by these days and I just don't have on at the moment. Thos systems were cut into the dash and had totally different parts than the factory AC. Also, you think Dana Corp shipped those computer boxes from Korea or were they made here? IDK to be honest.... Enjoy the episode!

I remember when I was a kid, my father had a 1973 Ford van with that air horn kit on it.

Back in 2020, I looked at a 1979 Ford F250 Camper Special, in Lethbridge, Alberta and it had the Ford factory tachometer accessory installed on the steering column.

Hey Dentsidedepot, I just hooked up my CB radio up in my 78 c10. I used an A.S brand antenna made in 1968. The CB is a radio shack realistic C.B. out of the 1977 (engine donor)- Gmc motor home. Works pretty good.

I have one of those CB's in a box! Never knew that Ford had their own version of it.

My truck has the Ford brand vent shades. They were on it when I bought it. The AVS ones are going for over $200 CAD new.

Funny, I remember having an AMC Matador that came with a similar fuel sentry gauge installed from the factory.

Fuel economy gauge. Harking back to the fuel crisis of '73. Gas was rationed or sold out.
The factory installed rhe Uhaul ones into the dash- either a guage or a yellow light that lit when you goosed it. They also had RPM limiters.

I've got the dealer installed cruise on my 84 f250, however it has an aftermarket delay for the wipers so there's more than 2 speeds, would that have been a dealer add on?

You should put all of these into one of your trucks

My truck has a tach in the dash. I guess that implies it was a "commercial" grade truck 🤔?
