Why Your Photos Are Wonky And Deformed

Most photos are really quick scans. That's because processing all the pixels at once is too hard for consumer camera electronics. This scanning is called 'rolling shutter'.

Global shutter sensors are not "really expensive and bulky", but there are tradeoffs involved in making them work. They are more expensive for equivalent resolution (but not twice as expensive) and they are larger, but not enough to change the finished size of a smartphone.

Sony Alpha 9 III features global shutter image sensor which exposes and reads all pixels simultaneously. Your photos will not wonky anymore
