The Bangles - Live in 2000 (Annotated Version)

I do not personally have any contact with the members of The Bangles. I'm just a fan who grew up enjoying their music in the 1980s and wanted to provide people with an opportunity to learn about The Bangles while watching them perform live.

If you would like to watch the entire concert without my annotations, you can find it here:

The playlist for the concert is below. I have purposely not included a time index for each song because my annotations are much more effective if the concert is seen from start to finish as opposed to skipping around from song to song. Enjoy the concert.

1. Hazy Shade of Winter
2. Live
3. If She Knew What She Wants
4. Between The Two
5. The Rain Song
6. Manic Monday
7. Here Right Now
8. September Gurls
9. Goining Down To Liverpool
10. I Will Take Care Of You
11. Get The Girl
12. In Your Room
13. Stealing Rosemary
14. Angels Don't Fall In Love
15. Hero Takes A Fall

Michael’s “Between the Two” is an amazingly written song with great bass lines. Just listen to it!

They are only in their early 40s here, how time has passed so quickly.

I've watched this concert many times over now, I find something new in it every time. The musicianship, the songs.... it's utterly brilliant

These women and the Bangles as a group all need to be in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Michael is one of the few bassists that switches from finger style to picking depending on the sound she wants for the song. She mostly uses her fingers but for Stealing Rosemary she’s using a pick. Most bassists use only one technique exclusively. Michael knows!

Between The Two is out of this world. Holy christ.

The best all-girl band in rock history. OK, there haven't been many, but they have it all over the Go Gos..

Micki's bass playing and voice are understated. I love them all but Michael's base, voice, composition are so integral to the band. Without her, and I have watched the videos over and over and amazed with her instrumentals. Seems we all focus on lead, but the bass playing by her equals the rest of the other's skills.

What a bass line on "Hero takes a fall" Always something else to pick out in this concert. Brilliant.
The Bangles are far rockier than people think.

no laptop next to the drummer, that's how live and raw it is

I have memories of being at the Arcade at the mall when I was a teen and the Bangles were always up on the video screens...they ruled the 80s female groups
