In this video Cal Knight, Watch Trading Academy's Top Student is showing us how an inside look at the corrupt industry of jewelers and watch dealers. While corrupt, it still provides a huge opportunity for anyone to take the jewelers' market away from them and turn it into massive profits.

This reminds me of predatory multi level marketing gatherings of the mid 90s.

When it comes to the top brands, Rolex, Patek, AP etc, the Collector / enthusiast or end user does not want to buy from a Watch Trader, they want to buy from the Dealer..AD but unfortunately you have to, as the flippers have annoyingly bought up all but most of the sought after modes!! 😡

This was a very well thought out and detailed explanation on how this type of business works. Thank you for putting it out.

Cal,

Great video.

Besides the cost of the program, how much do I need to start?

I have $4, 800 total.

Can I start or should I save more before buying the course?

U should make a 2022 video on this topic since dealers are a joke now

I long for the days when the consumer could walk into their AD and purchase what they desired. Honestly, I don’t believe that you’re stimulating the watch eco system. You’re all making a fantastic living at our expense. I do thank you for the video though. It was illuminating and very well done.

Easy, products loose the flare, hipe, today they're new tomorrow their vintage, you gotta take losses, you've enjoyed the product when it was new and now your selling low because it's old or second hand( vintage per se ). Sellers or manufacturers will raise the price according to hipe, how much a product is wanted and how much we are willing to pay.I think the world is functioning this way at the moment.

All you need to know is the dealer sells largely to big spending clients and the grey market sellers because it's steady, guaranteed sales/income. The average person who wants a high end watch usually can't buy one from a store. You aren't worth it for them.

This isn't a scam but there is a greater profit to be made selling people the idea they can become millionaires than there is in selling these watches. It's a curation business and you need a lot of work.

Interesting. Is there a license or certification one needs to do this? Also .. if this is strictly a networking /work your way around the industry thing to accomplish being a successful watch trader over time .. Wouldn't that take a long ... long while to establish a consistent cash flow from doing consistent business?

So essentially you've just created another middle man in the industry.

Again, how are you able to get watches cheap enough to resell to somebody who's looking to get them cheaper and still sell them at a profit that makes it worth your time to keep doing this? I don't see it happening I think this is a huge scam, just sayin

The only people I know who make money on watch trading either hold the watches for a time, or are into money laundering. Buy a $100k watch here using funds obtained from organised crime (car rebirthing, drug sales, prostitution etc) put it on your wrist, fly somewhere and sell it to recoup the money. You get a small commission (and a bullet if you don’t turn up with the watch or mess up the resale).

The classic money laundering used to be casinos until they clamped down on it. You expected to lose a percentage to the house but could come away with clean money.

With watch trading if you know what you are doing you don’t lose money.

Most border officials wouldn’t recognise a PP, AP, Richard Milne etc. To them it’s a $50 watch. Sooner or later they will clamp down on it.
