'The Minnow' Fish Trap Farm Base for Chill Scrap Farming in Rust!

Rust is stressful, even regular fishing is stressful. And with horse poop farming a total nuisance due to the trade in vendor having a low wallet and many servers have a jump up to reach the shop, I now think fish trap farming is the best safe & easy scrap method. This base will let you dabble in it with a fairly low investment but still using 8 fish traps to go through bait relatively quickly. In practice this base has netted me a few thousand extra scrap over a few days just passively paying attention to it. Simply take a nailgun when you leave base and grab any animal you see, especially bears.

I did some testing. You do not need to interact with the fishtrap for it to "reset". Put your bait in the right most slots and it will continue fishing until the trap breaks.
Tested on a building server however.

I just did a 1x1 with compound walls last week on a weekly . Failure rate on that server was high . 40 bear meat would catch 8 fish. FYI I figured out you can place on a foundation on the water and break the foundation the trap remains there.

Yo! Nice quick starter, I like this! Tbh I'd probably setup my single door frame as wood anyways and chop out later to replace with garage doors, 8 traps will get you into t2 pretty quick especially if you got a bear or two, every bear I see now just screams free scrap

incredible work as always (it has been 1 minute since upload but i expect great quality) i think you can use the medium planter for a hybrid fish-plant farm, can you test it out??? (the medium planter from the frontline dlc does not require tarp and it is very cheap)

This base is great. However, as a recently returning player, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that you need to kill 10s of animals to farm bait if you want to really net any meaningful scrap. Without a stockpile of animal meat, the scrap per hour output on this base is pretty low.

In my first try at building a fish trap base, it would not let me upgrade the floor the traps were sitting on, nor did it even let me honeycomb the outside until I destroyed the traps. I did not even place them through the walls as you did, but only 1 per foundation since I didn’t know you could do this. How come you were able to honeycomb the outside walls after the traps were installed?

Securing this base with honey comb is pointless due to only 2 doors to main.. probably add more doors and airlocks to your exits / entrances
