How Synchronous Generators and Transformers Work - 3D Animation
Показать описание
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
according to faraday's law, when a conductor is rotated in a magnetic field, it generates a force known as electromotive force (emf). this principle is used to generate electricity.
synchronous generators are used in power stations and can generate between 11,000 and 21,000 volts. the stator of a synchronous generator contains stator windings, which provide the output. the rotor has field windings that generate the magnetic field, and this field winding is supplied with dc power externally to produce the magnetic field.
a transformer is a device that steps up or steps down the high voltage supplied by the generator. step-up transformers are only available at generation plants, whereas all other transformers are step-down transformers.
when transformers increase voltage, they simultaneously reduce current because power always remains constant. transformers cannot change power; they can only adjust the voltage and current.
in this video, the detailed working of synchronous generators and transformers is explained with the help of 3d animation for better understanding.
