Acton Town

This station focus got away from me somewhat with a plot running all over the place.

Suffice to say that it begins and ends with fish, with a middle of maps and danger on the permanent way.

The movie at the end - 'Safety on the track' was an instructional video about safety on the London Underground. Mainly filmed around Acton Town in 1950.

Brilliant. A fabulous old LT safety film, too...

A very enjoyable video…nicely presented and documented! I have always enjoyed the notoriety of Acton’s numerous stations. (new subscriber, Virginia)

Should you ever find yourself in Barnes you should try the fish and chip shop chosen by the London taxi driver . Tanya's Fish Bar, Barnes High St Sw13 .And please let us know how much that lovely looking meal set you back ..Might be worth me dragging the wife out for a "Romantic Meal" . Keep up the great vids with a good sense of humor

The Metropolitan District Railway opened Mill Hill Park on the 1st July 1879, the same day that the line opened through to, and terminated, at Ealing Broadway. Mill Hill Park was never a terminus. This was three years before the branch to Hounslow opened. (Wikipedia entry on Acton Town station is incorrect!)

There is no suburb of "Acton Town". The town part of Acton is about half a mile away. The station is in Gunnnersbury Lane and should have been called by that name.
