Puppy beaten to near death for urinating indoors: Terry's Story

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to saving Terry's life - especially the brave neighbour!! Hope the abuser was charged with everything possible. Countries all over the world need stiffer, stronger animal abuse laws and the courts need to do a better job at enforcing them.

13 Years ago we adopted a 1 1/2 year old Belgian/Australian shepherd mix who had been so badly abused by her previous owners that it took two months of constant 1 on 1 with her before she finally trusted me. During that time, she'd pee in fear in the house multiple times a day. I couldn't talk and use hand motions (which was a habit for me I had to learn to break for her) because even if she was behind me, even if I wasn't directing it towards her, she'd just piss herself thinking I was going to hit her...
I spent every free time I had working at her pace, trying to show her what love was, until one day 2 months later she came up to me willingly and laid her head in my lap and I just started crying and petting her. She was the sweetest dog I've ever owned, full of pure love, and after over a year of only bringing her around people I knew wouldn't make her feel threatened, she became the friendliest girl I've ever seen.
She passed away 10 1/2 months ago... I miss her so much every single day...

The “person” who had Terry is an evil 🤬🤬. Puppies having accidents indoors is part and parcel of owning a dog until you put in the effort to toilet train them which takes time and patience. So glad the neighbour was so brave to intervene and rescue this poor defenceless puppy. The team did an amazing job helping Terry back to health and can totally see why Rachel wanted to adopt him as he’s gorgeous 🐶🫶🏻. Very happy he’s now living the wonderful life he deserves with a loving family and some dog playmates as well ❤️🐶. Seriously hope the “person” was charged for animal cruelty and abuse

I cannot understand people who abuse animals.
The abusers are the worst form of creation on the planet.
If one can't shower a pet with care and love - don't get a pet in the first place.
Well done to everyone who rescued Terry from this monster, and nursed him back to life.

The neighbour truly saved poor little Terrys life by being brave enough to get involved and get him straight to much needed medical help. The vets and nurses who treated Terry for his devastating injuries are wonderful people and along with the neighbour showed Terry what real love and care is and he now has a wonderful new life with the lovely Rachel and her family 🐶💓💓. Hope the person who abused poor Terry was charge with animal abuse and cruelty and banned from ever having another animal again 🤬.

It’s not just “others”, it’s a poor, innocent baby who was so badly abused. Terry’s story brought me to tears and then rage. I’m so glad and relieved that he’s alright and living an incredibly happy life. God bless everyone who rescued Terry and brought him back from near death.
