Ryan Seacrest to take over for Pat Sajak on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

When longtime “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak steps down at the end of next season after more than 40 years, Ryan Seacrest will become the new master of ceremonies. “I can't wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White,” Seacrest said in a statement. NBC’s Joe Fryer reports for TODAY.

I think they should have auditioned a variety of different people (including common people we have never heard of), rotate guest hosts from people who auditioned, create a poll on which guest host they like the most, and go from there. Ryan Seacrest already has many opportunities, and I think other people deserve a chance. I feel like there needs to be new blood entirely.

Ryan Seacrest worked on a children's game show that Merv Griffin created called CLICK. So I guess they thought he would be a good replacement for Pat Sajak. But I was thinking Ty Treadway from Merv Griffin's Crosswords though.

Here's something interesting about me. I was born on December 23, 1975. Ryan Seacrest was born on December 24, 1974. So I was born almost one whole year after Seacrest was born and I was just 5 years old when Pat Sajak became host of Wheel, replacing Chuck Woolery. That's quite interesting. I wish Ryan the best of luck as the new host of Wheel of Fortune in the fall of 2024.
