A very well designed and efficiently packaged frigate packing a huge punch for a ship of such a small displacement. Problem is 🇷🇺 shipbuilding capacity is so weak.

The AG is definitely the best frigate in the world at the moment, even the FFG(X) will fall short of it, unfortunately. I’m surprised the PRC didn’t do more with the Type 054A/Bs.

Excellent presentation, the 3S14 VLS launchers also supports the use of Otvet anti-submarine missiles with a range of 50km carrying either a warhead containing a 400mm depth charge or UMGT-1 electric torpedo.

It seems to me that the better the missiles, the more relevant these small surface ships are. If Russian frigates can now carry the missile firepower that previously needed a destroyer, then money can be saved and more frigates can be built. There is a lot to be said, by concentrating on numerous surface missile ships and of course submarines, compared to spending money on the hugely expensive aircraft carriers and their escort fleet. As missile quality improves, the more redundant aircraft carriers become.

I haven't seen this video yet, but it would be interesting to see a comparison between this and the upcoming Type-54B.

Upgraded talwar class will have 8 VLS for brahmos, and 24 for SAM probably shtil1 with 4k ton displacement, tbf now differentiating b/w a frigate and destroyer is getting difficult, we have 6k ton delhi class destroyer and 6.8k ton niligiri class frigate

This seems like a good platform to build off of. longer and what seems a shorter profile. But then again it seems that all their armament is in the bow, the problem of putting all their eggs in one basket. If the bow takes a hit might take out the whole system.

Seriously? A medium-sized frigate with average radar and missile equipment is the "deadliest"? Its only advantage is the Zircon rackets. There is no comparison to the more advenced frigates like Spanisch F100, Australian Hunter, Frech-Italian Horizon et cetera, cetera...
