ASTM D5321, D6243 Direct Shear of Geosynthetics

Показать описание
This video describes ASTM D5321 “Standard Test Methods for Determining the Coefficient of Soil and Geosynthetic or Geosynthetic and Geosynthetic Friction by the Direct Shear Method” and “Standard Test Method for Determine the Internal and Interface Shear Resistance of Geosynthetic Clay Liners by the Direct Shear Method.” These methods are considered performance tests and attempt to model specific field conditions. The purpose of the test is to determine the mid-plane or interface shear resistance of geosynthetic and or soil. These methods were originally developed by the Geosynthetic Research Institute (GRI) under the auspices of the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI), with the cooperation of the member organizations and later adopted by both ASTM International and ISO.
GSI constitutes a diverse assembly of stakeholders who actively engage in the manufacturing, design and use of geosynthetics as engineering materials. GSI’s mission is to develop and transfer knowledge, assess and critique geosynthetics, and provide service to its member organizations. One of the major objectives of the institute is to develop test methods, guides, practices and specifications of geosynthetics used in Civil Engineering applications all over the world.
