No Right to Privacy? Riley Gaines Tells Senate of Locker Room Trauma with Lia Thomas

On Capitol Hill Wednesday, a former NCAA women's swimming star took aim at a White House proposal on transgender athletes.

The Biden administration is seeking to redefine Title IX which was created to protect the rights of women. With the president trying to change Title IX to now promote transgender issues instead, athlete Riley Gaines testified at a Senate hearing.

Gaines raised the issue of women's rights as she spoke about competing with trans swimmer Lia Thomas and the shocking experience of having to share the same dressing room with a biological male.

I just wanted to mention how much I appreciate the leadership many men have taken on the transgender males in women’s sports & spaces question.

I'm not speaking for all women here, but many women are quiet on this question because of the inherent danger. We are fine debating many controversial topics with males but this question in particular is very sensitive to a male who thinks he is a woman. Males who feel like women expect us to accept them in our spaces! They can get very emotional & hostile if we don't. It doesn't feel safe. It goes against our basic instinct to anger males on sensitive personal issues, at least unknown (often mentally unstable) males. Look at what happened to Riley Gaines, and she had a bodyguard and security!

If you're a guy and think I'm exaggerating, imagine challenging another male you know is bigger & stronger than you — in fact he could easily kill you — on a highly sensitive issue that will hurt his ego and likely make him aggressive. You’d probably avoid it.

Anyway, thank you to all the men who have recognized this and stepped in as protectors of women & girls in this question. You guys are defenders of truth! We sure appreciate you.❤️
