Sleigh Ride - 2024 Stereo Mix and Remaster (The Ronettes)

Originally released in 1963 only in mono on the "A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records" LP, produced by Phil Spector. Stereo mix wasn't issued until 1974, and no official digital stereo version exists.

With this remix, I aimed to preserve the charm of the original Wall of Sound while enhancing its balance and clarity. One of the biggest differences you'll notice is the improved vocal definition and the removal of the shrill resonance in the strings that was present in the quite rare original stereo.

To create a fuller stereo experience, I split the brass section into two and panned them left and right, adding richness and filling the right channel before the strings enter. The bass has been centered for a more grounded feel, and I've carefully boosted the vocal levels to match the energy of the mono version—an iconic mix in its own right.
